The Jennifer Salisbury and Mark Morand Jazz Duo is a Melbourne-based musical partnership, celebrated for their authentic renditions of vintage jazz classics from the 1920s through the 1950s. Since their collaboration began in 2018, they have developed a dynamic synergy, captivating audiences with their extensive repertoire of over 250 songs.

Jennifer Salisbury – Vocals 🎤

An enchanting songstress, Jennifer is known for her smoky jazz vocals and lively swing stylings. She brings class, glamour, and sophistication to every performance, guiding audiences on a time-traveling journey through the golden era of jazz. Her interpretations of American Songbook classics are both breezy and contemporary, making her a standout in the jazz scene.

Mark Morand – Guitar 🎸

Mark is a "truly authentic jazz guitarist," with a signature style inspired by legends like Joe Pass and Kenny Burrell. His passion for music and expertise on the guitar provide the perfect accompaniment to Jennifer's vocals, creating a harmonious and engaging duo.

Whatever ails you, a dose of The Swingin' Elixir is guaranteed to get you on your feet. Playing swing tunes predominantly of the 30's and 40's, the Swingin' Elixir kicks out the dancing tunes with Lindy Hop in mind.

You'll hear songs that were performed by the likes of Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Prima just to name a few. The 4 piece rhythm section, and 2 piece horn section, together with the silky smooth vocals of Jen Salisbury, comprise this 'little big-band'.

32 swingin' new swinging’ Australian tunes, filmed live in 32 fabulous bars - it’s our mission and it's that simple. With four brilliant vocalists as part of a smokin' 9-piece band, Melbourne has never seen a more ambitious and audacious project from a composer.

Inspired by the greats of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, Mark's songwriting takes a raucous approach. Mark had a revelation that merged his love for jazz and his fondness for local watering holes, the result, a mission to record 32 different jazz tunes each recorded in a different bar. Now up to song 19, the high energy band have a plethora of tunes guaranteed to make you smile.
